Lufthansa has officially reopened its premium lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal B after an extensive eight-month renovation, the airline announced on Wednesday. The refreshed lounge, which now spans nearly 6,400 square feet, is available to first- and business-class passengers of Lufthansa, Swiss, and Austrian Airlines, as well as to those with HON Circle and Senator status.
The $10 million renovation has transformed the lounge, boosting its capacity by 25 percent to accommodate approximately 165 guests. Key upgrades include the addition of a full kitchen and various enhanced seating areas. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a striking “Skyline Bar,” the centerpiece of the lounge, along with a bistro area that offers a seasonal rotating menu.
“One-third of the seating was designed for working, and the other two-thirds was designed for relaxing,” said Victoria Schuster, Lufthansa’s head of product, during a media preview. She emphasized that this lounge is the first to feature the airline’s new “concept design,” which aims to balance productivity and comfort for travelers.
For added privacy, the lounge includes two separate rooms for calls or meetings. There is also an exclusive first-class dining section, with sit-down meal service and seating for around 20 guests, offering a more personalized experience.
The newly renovated lounge is a significant upgrade for Lufthansa’s premium customers at Newark Liberty International Airport, blending modern design with enhanced functionality to create a sophisticated travel experience.
