Atlantis Paradise Island, the iconic resort destination in the Bahamas and the Caribbean, has completed a stunning $150 million transformation. The resort’s extensive updates span its casino, guestrooms, restaurants, and lounges, enhancing the luxurious experience for its guests. Key highlights include the renovated guestrooms at The Royal, a completely redefined Atlantis Casino, and the new Paranza restaurant at The Cove, featuring the culinary mastery of Michelin-starred chef Michael White.
The transformation embodies the ethos of Atlantis, with custom fixtures and design details inspired by the ocean and ecosystems of the Bahamas. New additions to the resort include Bar Sol, Cleito’s private gaming, Silan, Perch, the Caribbean’s first Shake Shack, FIELDTRIP, Cartier, Thistle, and soon, Christian Louboutin and the Paradise Links mini-golf course.
“Atlantis continuously elevates the guest experience,” said Audrey Oswell, President and Managing Director of Atlantis. “The recent developments at The Royal, Paranza, and the Atlantis Casino provide guests with modern upgrades while maintaining the resort’s beloved identity. Our experiential-driven programming allows guests to create lifelong memories, demonstrating our commitment to an unsurpassed vacation experience.”
Complete Transformation of The Royal
The Royal at Atlantis, a 1,201-room hotel and home to the Atlantis Casino, underwent a multimillion-dollar transformation. The refashioned guestrooms, led by Atlantis’ Senior Vice President of Design and Creative Director Tony Tompkins, offer a serene escape reflective of the white sand beaches and turquoise waters of the Bahamas. The rooms feature bespoke décor, sculptural pieces inspired by the Bahamas, and calming shades of blue and white, creating a peaceful retreat.
The Royal boasts 120 suites, including 10 Grand Suites, four Presidential Suites, and three Royal Suites, all echoing the redesign with richer colors and elegant touches.
The Redefined Atlantis Casino
The Atlantis Casino, with its 85 tables and 700 games, has been transformed with a new look and the addition of Bar Sol. The casino houses four iconic glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly, which have been re-lit to harmonize with the new design. The custom carpet features 26 jewel tones, and the murals have been restored, giving the casino a modern yet classic feel.
Bar Sol, inspired by the late Sol Kerzner’s passion for Bahamian art, offers a sophisticated atmosphere with a Chihuly chandelier and nightly live music performances. The Moon Bar inside the casino has been upgraded with a circular deck, providing a perfect spot to overlook the casino floor.
Paranza: A Culinary Journey by Michelin-Starred Chef
The Cove at Atlantis introduces Paranza, a new dining experience by Michelin-starred chef Michael White. Designed by Jeffrey Beers International and Tony Tompkins, the restaurant’s interior reflects the vibrant blue waters and white sand beaches of the Bahamas and the Italian coastline. The warmly lit patio and main dining area feature hand-blown glass, antique mirrors, and earthy hues, creating an inviting atmosphere.
Paranza’s bar area showcases a temperature-controlled wine wall, and the private dining room features seashell-shaped brass light fixtures and custom design elements, offering an elegant and intimate dining experience.

Atlantis Paradise Island’s transformation highlights its commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience. With luxurious updates, world-class dining, and immersive design, Atlantis continues to be a premier destination for travelers seeking the ultimate in hospitality and adventure.
