Aeroflot Management Shakeup Following June Meltdown

Aeroflot’s cabin crew department is set for a significant leadership overhaul following the carrier’s late June operational meltdown. According to sources, nearly all top executives in the department have tendered their resignations.

This includes the department’s director, Indiana Talyppova, and her two deputies, Mikhail Dmitriev and Elena Frolova. All three have reportedly signed paperwork to leave effective July 19th. In the interim, one of Talyppova’s deputies, Larisa Martyanova, has assumed the role of acting director.

Sources attribute the exodus to the airline’s late June operational crisis, which saw Aeroflot grapple with widespread flight delays due to a shortage of cabin crew. Earlier reports indicated that around 1,500 employees simultaneously went on sick leave, citing “inhumane” treatment from management, demanding work schedules, a lack of days off, denied vacation requests, and low wages.

The departing executives have not publicly commented on their reasons for leaving, and Aeroflot has yet to issue an official statement regarding the leadership changes. However, the shakeup comes as the airline faces mounting pressure to address employee concerns and improve working conditions.

The cabin crew shortage and subsequent flight disruptions have significantly impacted Aeroflot’s operations and tarnished its reputation. The carrier has apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and pledged to take steps to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
