Russia’s flagship carrier Aeroflot is expanding its international network with a new route linking southern Russia to Turkey. From June 4, the airline will begin operating direct flights between Mineralnye Vody and Istanbul, marking the first time the route has been introduced.
The new service strengthens connectivity between the Stavropol region and one of Europe’s busiest aviation hubs, offering travelers a more direct gateway to Turkey and beyond.
Twice-weekly service from June
Flights will operate twice a week using Airbus A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration, including both economy and business cabins.
According to the schedule:
Departures from Mineralnye Vody: Thursdays and Sundays
Return flights from Istanbul: Fridays and Sundays
The route will be operated under flight numbers SU812 and SU813.
Expanding Istanbul network
With this addition, Mineralnye Vody becomes the sixth Russian city connected to Istanbul by Aeroflot Group. The airline already serves the Turkish metropolis from:
Moscow
Saint Petersburg
Yekaterinburg
Sochi
Krasnodar
The expansion reflects continued demand for travel between Russia and Turkey, particularly during the summer season.
A key route for tourism and transit
Istanbul remains a major hub for both leisure and connecting flights, making it a strategic destination for airlines. The new route is expected to benefit tourists heading to Turkey, as well as passengers using Istanbul as a transfer point to other international destinations.
For the North Caucasus region, the launch provides improved access to global travel networks without the need to transit through larger Russian hubs.
Summer travel boost
The introduction of the route comes as airlines ramp up their summer schedules, with Turkey continuing to rank among the most popular destinations for Russian travelers.
With direct access from Mineralnye Vody, the new service is likely to appeal to both holidaymakers and business travelers looking for faster, more convenient connections.
