Minor Hotels Plans Major Expansion in India with 50 New Hotels

Minor Hotels has announced plans to significantly expand its presence in the Indian market, with a goal to open 50 new hotels over the next ten years. The company has also inaugurated its first office in Bangalore to support this expansion.

Focus on Premium and Luxury Segments

Minor Hotels will concentrate its strategy on the premium and luxury segments, primarily through its Anantara, Avani, and NH Collection brands.

Anantara Hotels & Resorts will focus on creating Ayurvedic wellness resorts, hotels surrounded by nature, and properties located in historic palaces. Avani Hotels & Resorts is well-positioned to develop urban premium hotels across India, catering to business and leisure travelers. NH Collection Hotels & Resorts will concentrate on rebranding existing hotels in the premium segment. Additionally, the company sees significant potential for establishing NH Hotels & Resorts in rapidly growing smaller cities and near airports.

Current Presence and Future Milestones

Minor Hotels has been operating in India since 2017, with the opening of the Oaks Bodhgaya in the northeastern state of Bihar. In 2024, the group will celebrate a significant milestone with the opening of Anantara Jaipur in Jaipur, marking the debut of its flagship brand in India.

Strategic Outlook

With the new office in Bangalore and a clear focus on premium and luxury segments, Minor Hotels aims to capture a substantial share of the burgeoning Indian hospitality market. This strategic expansion is expected to enhance the company’s footprint and cater to the increasing demand for high-quality accommodations in India.
