The Falcon 10 business jet with Russian registration that went off the radar in Afghanistan has been located with survivors, as reported by the local search and rescue service, cited by Rosaviation with reference to the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan.
Preliminary information suggests that four individuals are alive, having sustained various injuries. The fate of the other two people on board is still being clarified.
The aircraft, which experienced an engine failure and crashed in Afghanistan, was piloted by Dmitry Belyakov and Arkadiy Grachev. Belyakov was 41 years old, and Grachev was 42. The other two individuals listed as crew members were reportedly doctors accompanying the patient Anna Evsyukova and her husband Anatoly during transport from Pattaya (U-Tapao) to Moscow (Zhukovsky). This was a chartered medical flight, essentially operating as a commercial flight.
It is worth noting that both pilots held only private pilot certificates, meaning they were not qualified for commercial flights. Both pilots received training on the Falcon 10 type aircraft only last year. The document confirming their completion of training on this business jet was issued by the FlightSafety International training center in May 2023.
The operator of the crashed business jet, LLC “Athletic Group,” had no certificates for flights. According to Rosaviation’s website, the company lacked certificates for conducting commercial air transportation, performing aviation work, and the certificate of an operator of general aviation. Consequently, it was not authorized to conduct commercial flights.
According to preliminary information, Anna and Anatoly Evsyukov did not survive the plane crash.
