Qatar Airways and Air Seychelles Sign Codeshare Agreement

Qatar Airways has announced a codeshare agreement with Air Seychelles, the national carrier of the Republic of Seychelles, enabling seamless travel for passengers to one of the world’s most unique and exotic destinations.

With its extensive network of over 160 destinations, Qatar Airways connects travelers from Africa, America, Asia, and Europe to Seychelles via its hub at Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha, which has been recognized as the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’. Additionally, members of Qatar Airways Privilege Club can earn and redeem Avios at nearly 200 outlets at Qatar Duty Free (QDF).

Currently, Qatar Airways operates a daily flight between HIA and Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on Mahé Island, near the capital city of Victoria, with morning arrivals and evening departures. Through this new codeshare agreement, Qatar Airways will place its code on Air Seychelles’ flights between Mahé and Praslin, allowing passengers to conveniently continue their journey with a single booking. Praslin is renowned for its picturesque Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as its palm-fringed beaches, including Anse Georgette and Anse Lazio, featuring stunning granite boulders. Passengers can book their travel with both airlines through online travel agencies or local travel agents.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, stated, “Our partnership with Air Seychelles aligns with our strategy of enhancing connectivity to African markets. We are delighted to collaborate with Air Seychelles to provide passengers with more travel options and support the tourism industry in Seychelles.”

Air Seychelles operates a domestic network with a fleet of five Twin Otter TurboProps serving routes between Mahé and Praslin, as well as charter flights. The airline recently celebrated its 45th anniversary in October 2022 and was honored as the ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline’ at the World Travel Awards held in Kenya.
