Tribute Portfolio welcomes its latest addition with the opening of Iaïla, Seychelles, a Tribute Portfolio Resort. The resort marks the brand’s first-ever venture in the Seychelles, providing a serene haven that’s ideal for exploring and rejuvenating amidst the tranquility of a botanical paradise. Positioned near Anse Royal, the stunning white sand beach on the Southeastern coast of Mahé, the largest island in the Seychelles, the resort aims to highlight the island’s hidden treasures for adventurers and locals who seek immersive experiences and desire to engage with the community while on their travels.
MMAC Design created the resort with a soothing color palette that seamlessly blends with the lush tropical surroundings, accentuated by bold pops of green. The lobby ceiling’s intricate carving reflects the Seychelles’ island shapes, showcasing the hotel’s attention to detail. Each of the 76 bespoke guest rooms incorporates nature-inspired elements, such as a Seychelles plant silhouette mural, hand-woven macrame bed boards, and wooden and rattan room dividers – natural materials commonly found in the island’s traditional architecture. The resort also offers eight boutique suites, including the Senior Suite, featuring a private plunge pool and terrace with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and surrounding mountains, making it a perfect choice for families or groups of friends.
Apart from its stunning accommodations, the resort offers a plethora of amenities such as a water sports center, outdoor swimming pool, 24/7 gym, spa, barbershop, and a kids’ recreation area. The resort’s extensive range of activities caters to guests seeking to connect with the community, showcasing the Seychellois spirit. The village experiences, Creole cooking classes, traditional weaving demonstrations, and dancing to the Moutya music around a bonfire are among the activities that draw guests to the resort. Day trips to explore the village market, fishing trips, jungle hikes, and expeditions to neighboring islands arranged by native experts are also available. Additionally, guests can enjoy sunrise yoga, jogging along the resort’s tropical trails, jewelry-making using foraged shells, or indulge in water sports such as paddleboarding, kayaking, and snorkeling at the uninhabited ‘Ile Souris’ coral island, home to coral fish and sea turtles.
Guests can unwind after a day of exciting activities at the Iaïla Spa, which offers a full range of facial and body treatments using organic and handmade products made with local ingredients, such as coconut, vanilla, and cinnamon.
With five restaurants and bars, the resort is a haven for foodies, offering an international array of cuisines with a Seychellois twist. Laroul, one of the restaurants, serves signature dishes featuring daily catches from the Indian Ocean and seasonal produce. Kafe Kreol Beachside Bar and Restaurant specializes in authentic Creole and Italian cuisine, while Laroul Bar serves expertly prepared drinks and snacks by the poolside.
The Tribute Portfolio, the hotel’s brand, participates in Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s award-winning travel program, allowing members to earn and redeem points for stays at this resort and other Marriott Bonvoy properties. The Marriott Bonvoy app also provides members with a personalized, contactless travel experience, ensuring peace of mind during their stay.
