Catalonia Hotels & Resorts has signed a long-term lease to manage an emblematic hotel building conveniently located in the best area of Madrid’s Gran Vía. With the opening of this new hotel, Catalonia Hotels & Resorts will have 8 hotels in the capital.

The new hotel is located in the best area of Gran Vía, between Callao and Plaza España, newly opened after an unprecedented landscape reconfiguration. A location converted into the new tourist center of the city that connects important tourist and historical enclaves such as the Temple of Debod, the Casa de Campo, the Plaza de Oriente, the Royal Palace, the Sabatini gardens and the Gran Vía.
This will be the chain’s second hotel on Gran Vía and is very close to five other hotels in the chain, which has always opted to offer establishments in strategic, very central locations and in emblematic buildings.
The building is owned by the Santa Lucía insurance company.
Catalonia Hotels & Resorts renovation project
A major renovation project valued at 14 million euros will be carried out. The works will last until the end of 2023 when the opening of the new hotel is scheduled.
The project contemplates converting the central establishment into a singular hotel, with personality, aimed at offering a superior and memorable experience to its clients and being a new hotel benchmark in the capital
The establishment, with a 4-star category, will have 165 rooms -some of them in superior categories with a terrace and private Jacuzzi-, a bar, a restaurant, two conference rooms and a rooftop terrace with a swimming pool and views over Gran Vía. , the city center, the Royal Palace and the Sabatini gardens.
Highlight in this update project the 700m2 that will be allocated to the spa area with complete facilities dedicated to body and beauty care: swimming pools with jets, sauna, Turkish bath, massage rooms for body and facial treatments, as well as a gym. with state-of-the-art machines.
Catalonia Hotels & Resorts will also manage the most emblematic room of the Madrid stand-up scene, integrated into the hotel and which plans to reopen shortly with its usual programming.
