Austrian Airlines’ Maiden Flight Landed in Cancún

On 24 October 2021 at 10:40 am local time, Austrian Airlines’ aircraft OE-LPF took off for its maiden flight to Cancún. Passengers and crew of the fully booked Boeing 777 with a seating capacity of 306 were given a farewell with Mexican rhythms and typical breakfast at the gate at Vienna Airport. Twelve hours later, OS095 landed safely in Cancún, where it was welcomed with water fountains.

During the winter flight schedule 2021/22, the popular destination in sunny Mexico will be served by Austrian Airlines on Thursdays and Sundays. Austrian Airlines customers can choose between the booking classes Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class when traveling to Mexico. Tickets are available from 538 euros.

Due to high demand during Christmas time, Austrian Airlines increased its flight offer to Cancún to ten instead of seven round trips between 19 December and 9 January. “With our winter flight schedule, we are servicing attractive long-haul destinations to satisfy our passengers’ desire to travel. With the direct connection to Cancún, we are expanding our long-haul offer in the tourist segment,” says Austrian Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Michael Trestl.

Mauritius and Maldives are part of Austrian Airlines’ winter flight schedule 2021/22
As of last weekend, Mauritius and the Maldives are part of Austrian Airlines’ network again. The red-white-red airline takes off to Malé and Mauritius three times a week during winter season. Due to high booking numbers, the Austrian home carrier is increasing its capacities to these destinations during Christmas time. Between 17 December and 9 January, Malé will be served with 15 instead of ten and Mauritius with 13 instead of ten round trips.
