Australia Eases Travel Restrictions for Returning Australian Citizens

Effective November 1, 2021, Australian citizens, permanent residents, and their immediate family members will be eligible to enter Sydney, Australia without quarantine arrangements provided that they are fully-vaccinated and comply with document requirements.

A traveler must be fully-vaccinated with any of the following vaccine brands recognized by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA):

– COVID-19 Pfizer Comirnaty

– AstraZeneca Vaxzevria

– Janssen-Cilag (also known as Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19

– Moderna Spikevax

– Coronavac (Sinovac)

– Covishield (AstraZeneca/Serum Institute of India)

Please be ready with a vaccination certificate issued by a national public health authority, in the form of a digital or paper certificate.

You must also present your negative RT-PCR result taken within 72 hours and a duly accomplished Australia Travel Declaration at least 72 hours before flight departure.

Unvaccinated individuals, and those who have received vaccines that are not approved/recognized by TGA must quarantine for a period of 14 days.

However, non-Australian citizens and non-permanent residents are not allowed to enter Australia, unless a travel exemption is secured from the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
