The St. Petersburg Agency of Medical Tourism and the network of clinics in Spain VITHAS SANIDAD SLU (19 hospitals located in the major provinces of Spain – Madrid, Valencia, Alicante, Granada, Las Palmas, etc.) signed an agreement about cooperation
The ceremony took place at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Spain in Madrid.
“This is the first agreement between St. Petersburg and Spain in the field of medical tourism, aimed at the joint development of a system of standardization of requirements for working with foreign patients, assistance in increasing competencies and exchange of experience in the formation of international departments of clinics, the organization of joint scientific and practical events on effective activities of market participants ”- comments Natalya Yudina, General Director of JSC“ St. Petersburg Agency of Medical Tourism ”. It is also planned to promote and improve the attractiveness of the Spanish VITHAS hospitals and medical organizations of St. Petersburg as international medical tourism destinations for non-residents. Note that medical tourism is one of the most promising areas of the new tourist and cultural geography of St. Petersburg.
Additionally, within the framework of the international tourism exhibition “FITUR-2021”, it is planned to sign an agreement between the St. Petersburg Agency for Medical Tourism and the European certification of Medical Tourism International on the Agency’s submission of the International Patients Service Excellence program for Russian medical organizations. For reference JSC St. Petersburg Medical Tourism Agency was created in 2018 at the initiative of the Government of St. Petersburg with the aim of developing medical and sanatorium tourism and to attract patients from the regions and from abroad.
