Hotel Indigo Opens in Columbus

IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its boutique lifestyle offering in the southeastern U.S. with the opening of Hotel Indigo Columbus at Riverfront Place, a new premier destination for travelers to the Columbus, GA area. The stunning, new-build property is the most recent project from W.C. Bradley Real Estate, which has been dedicated to development and innovation in the region for more than 50 years. The hotel’s opening marks the seventh for the brand in the state.

Located in the heart of uptown Columbus and steps away from the 22-mile-long Chattahoochee River Walk, Mathews D. Swift Park, and Whitewater Express, Hotel Indigo Columbus at Riverfront Place is a prime destination for those relish the outdoors, as well as business travelers and leisure guests looking for rest and relaxation. Visitors can find retail, restaurants, and nightlife all within walking distance.

The hotel tells the stories of Columbus with nods to its rich past threaded throughout the design and guest experience. Subtle décor touches pay homage to Fort Benning, with green woven handles on the nightstands and the numbers “243’” on the dresser to mark how far Columbus is above sea level. Old pine wood at the elevator entrance was reclaimed from one of W.C. Bradley’s mills, and artwork throughout the hotel honors Columbus’ diverse history as an artists’ haven, nature preserve, military outpost and technology hub.

The property houses two dining options: Eighteen85 Rooftop Bar & Kitchen and Denim & Oak Riverfront Restaurant. Eighteen85, a tribute to the year W.C. Bradley Company was founded, features a design inspired by blues legend and Columbus native Ma Rainey and is the only area rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the Chattahoochee River. Denim & Oak, named after the textile industry that once flourished in the area and the forests that surround it, will offer farm-to-table dining in a charming setting directly on the river bank.
