This year, IHG Hotels & Resorts will introduce two brands to the Vietnam market—Hotel Indigo and Vignette Collection.
Hotel Indigo Saigon The City will welcome guests in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The luxurious Vignette Collection hotel will open its doors in the city of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The company states that they are “responding to the growing demand for hotel accommodations in Vietnam.”
Last year, there were 108 million domestic flights within the country, with the route from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City being one of the ten busiest in the world. As for international tourists, Vietnam remains popular among visitors from the United States, South Korea, and China. In the first quarter of 2024, international arrivals reached 4.6 million, surpassing the 2019 level. In total, the country aims to attract 18 million visitors this year.
Next year, IHG will open the InterContinental Halong Bay Resort in Halong City, followed by the launch of the Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay in 2026. IHG also plans to introduce its InterContinental brand in the Thanh Thuy Valley of Vinh Phuc Province in the coming years, marking the operator’s first resort project in the Vietnam Valley.
IHG currently operates 18 hotels in Vietnam across six brands: Six Senses, Regent Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, voco, and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts. The group aims to more than double its property portfolio in the country by 2028, with plans to open at least 26 additional hotels.
