The award-winning St. Regis Bora Bora Resort will reopen to travelers on July 23, 2020 with new precautions in place to ensure guest safety remains the top priority, along with refreshed premium overwater villas and the newly rebranded Iridium Spa.
Guests arriving at the luxury resort will observe increased digital contactless communication, appropriate physical distancing, Plexiglas screens in reception areas, hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the resort, regular disinfection protocols applied across the property per Marriott guidelines, and staff members will wear protective equipment. Previously shared amenities such as bicycles or snorkeling equipment will be assigned for your use only during the duration of the stay. Temperature checks will be performed upon arrival at the Bora Bora airport, and all luggage will be sanitized by the resort staff before being taken to the boat.
“We are thrilled to reopen our resort in paradise to travelers, and we are taking every precaution to ensure that guests, along with our dedicated staff, remain safe as travel to and from Bora Bora resumes,” said Richard Schilling, General Manager at St. Regis Bora Bora. “Guests will see necessary precautions made to protect their health and wellness while visiting, but the unmatched beauty of our destination and the world-renowned service at our beloved property remains the same.”
The resort has also seen recent refreshments to its overwater villas, which entailed sanding and varnishing the floors, painting the walls and ceilings, and replacing the decks and roofs as needed. Select overwater villas also received updated interiors including new wall treatments, new furniture and new décor. A modern and lighter pallet was chosen to complement the stunning natural views surrounding the resort. The interiors were tastefully completed by Paris-based interior designer, Marc Hertrich & Nicolas Adnet (The Studio MHNA).
The on-site spa will reopen as Iridium Spa, the St. Regis’ signature brand. Occupying its own island in the middle of a private lagoon at the resort, this unique 13,000-square-foot spa is a haven of sun-dappled serenity, where peace and rejuvenation go hand-in-hand. Its secluded beach, facing the majestic Mount Otemanu, is the perfect place to spend a day in calm contemplation.
Marriott International announced that it has signed an agreement with Alfardan Group to introduce the iconic St. Regis brand to Oman.
