Hotels Offer Reduced Rates for Front Line Workers

IHG hotels offer hotel rooms at reduced rates for front line workers, medical staff and other Government relief efforts. IHG is offering support through its taskforce to the Government, local authorities, municipalities and health care institutions in their efforts to prevent the further spread of Covid-19. This can cover a variety of scenarios, including hosting key government workers, medical staff and other groups in need for emergency accommodation.

IHG has seen a rise in requests from government bodies and public institutions during this difficult time for communities across Europe. Through its dedicated taskforce IHG is responding to these requests, learning from relief effort support in China and the UK, where IHG hotels have been used to house key workers and patients or isolate rough sleepers and people in need.

Karin Sheppard, SVP, Managing Director Europe, at IHG commented: “The current situation is unprecedented, and people’s health and wellbeing must be the top priority. We want to contribute to the recovery effort and stand ready to support governments and local authorities where the situation requires.”
