A-ROSA Expands Its Range of Excursions

A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH has set its focus firmly on its entertainment programme for the 2020 season. As well as introducing new onboard entertainment concepts such as the new A-ROSA themed cruises and the singer-songwriter contest, the company is also launching a significant number of new excursions that cover five different categories: Discovery, Action, Family, Bicycle and Connoisseur.

“In 2020 we’ll be offering 67 new excursions, which means our guests will be able to choose from more than 300 different options in our five regions of operation. This will let us ensure that all guests can discover Europe’s loveliest cities and regions in the way that suits them best,” explained Jörg Eichler, managing director and partner of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH.

“During the planning phase we focused on offering a greater number of unusual and individual excursions, since there’s more and more demand for them. As a result, the new range of excursions includes experiences such as a tour of Vienna by electric classic car – for up to five people – and a private yacht trip from Port St Louis through the Rhône Delta to an organic oyster farm, followed by oyster and wine tasting,” added Shore Excursions Manager Jennifer Böckmann.

The family excursion programme has also been expanded considerably. It now includes a trip to Amsterdam Zoo, a visit to a chocolate museum in Antwerp, a ghost tour of the Imperial Castle in Cochem and a silk-making adventure for all ages in Lyon – experiences that are sure to make a family holiday one to remember. In Nuremberg, parents can even take part in a beer-tasting session in the historical stone cellars beneath the city while their children enjoy a group treasure hunt. Guests on cruises calling at Hoorn, meanwhile, can look forward to maritime-themed and action-based excursions. They’ll have the opportunity to explore the IJsselmeer from a stand-up paddleboard or sail it in a flat-bottomed boat – and they’ll even be allowed to take control of the ropes and the helm themselves.

“Our bicycle tours have proven to be very popular. We now offer 40 different ones, allowing our guests to discover the highlights of Paris, the countryside of the Wachau along the Danube and more by bike. As well as the ships that operate on the French rivers, all four Danube ships and the A-ROSA SILVA and FLORA are now equipped with modern e-bikes,” explained Eichler.
