Forbes Travel Guide Announces World’s Best Rooms

Forbes Travel Guide released its Verified List for 2019’s World’s Best Hotel Rooms in February. The best-of list highlights 41 properties in 17 countries.

World’s Best Rooms are compiled from data gathered by incognito inspectors, who stay at the properties as an ordinary guest and test them up to 900 objective, exacting standards that covered everything from whether a staff member greets you curbside within 30 seconds of pulling up in a car to whether housekeeping arranges toiletries on top of high-quality underliners on the counter.

The ratings emphasize graciousness, thoughtfulness and personalized service: 75 percent of a hotel’s score is based on its level of service, while 25 percent is determined by the quality of its facilities.

These 41 rooms earned perfect scores on our exacting standards for luxury, comfort and convenience, which means they are elegantly appointed and thoughtfully designed down to the last detail.

The United States is home to 12 winners on the 2019 list, eight of which are located in California. The country with the second-highest tally on the list, China emerged with six hotels, including The Peninsula Beijing. Other hotels in China that received the high distinction include Encore Macau; Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou; Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong; Rosewood Beijing; and Wynn Macau.
