Southwest Airlines Adds Routes to Washington

Southwest Airlines has announced an expansion of summer travel options for customers by adding two new nonstop routes to Reagan National Airport (DCA), providing more service to the nation’s capital.

Starting from July 11 to September 4, 2023, Southwest will offer the following additional nonstop routes:

Memphis, Tenn., and Washington, D.C. (DCA) with one round-trip flight per day.
Albany, N.Y., and Washington, D.C. (DCA) with one round-trip flight per day.

Andrew Watterson, Chief Operating Officer at Southwest Airlines, expressed excitement about the opportunity to bring the benefits of competition, convenience, and high-quality service to more cities by offering nonstop flights to Washington, D.C. He highlighted that Southwest’s all-Boeing 737 fleet ensures customers enjoy spacious jet service on every flight, whether they are traveling to Albany, Memphis, or any of the airline’s 120+ destinations.

Additionally, Southwest continues to prioritize pro-consumer policies, such as allowing customers to check up to two bags for free, not charging change and cancellation fees, offering flight credits that never expire, and providing the renowned Southwest Hospitality that has been a hallmark of the airline for over 52 years.

Currently, Southwest operates up to 45 daily departures from Reagan National, serving 17 cities across the United States.
