Lufthansa Extends Suspension of Flights to Israel

Lufthansa has decided not to resume regular flights to Israel from October 14, citing the ongoing escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This decision represents a departure from the carrier’s earlier plans to restart flights to and from Israel on Saturdays.

Lufthansa had previously announced the suspension of air travel to Tel Aviv until October 14. However, the airline is currently operating evacuation flights from Israel. On October 12, the first special flight for the evacuation of German citizens landed in Tel Aviv. The plane had departed from Frankfurt. In total, eight flights are planned for Thursday and Friday for this purpose.

The extension of the suspension of regular flights to Israel underscores the impact of the ongoing conflict in the region on international travel and airline operations. The situation remains fluid, and airlines continue to monitor developments in the region.
