Iran’s Attack on Israel Caused Chaos

The attack by Iran on Israel has caused chaos in air travel unlike anything since September 11. International airlines are facing disruptions after Iran’s strikes on Israel further narrowed the options for air connectivity between Europe and Asia.

At least a dozen airlines, including Qantas, Lufthansa, United Airlines, and Air India, have canceled or changed routes. Mark Zee, founder of the analytical group OPSGROUP, stated that the world has not faced such aviation disruptions since the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. It’s worth noting that the aviation industry has previously dealt with restrictions stemming from the conflict between Israel and Hamas, as well as the Ukrainian war.

However, today the situation has become almost critical, as Iran’s airspace is crucial for airlines operating between Europe and Asia. Most likely, they will now be forced to choose an alternative route: either through Turkey or through Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
