Flixbus to Launch Bus Services in India with Gender-Based Seating

From February 6, Flixbus plans to launch bus services in India.

According to Flix CEO André Schwämmlein, they will deploy a proven business model in India, relying on partnerships with local operators. The bus carrier aims to connect 46 cities in India, including locations such as Ayodhya, Lucknow, Dehradun, Manali, and Jodhpur. Initially, the network will consist of 59 stops and over 200 daily departures.

Flixbus is adapting to the conditions of the local market and customer demand in India. For instance, the company will pay significant attention to road safety, with a round-the-clock road control and rapid response team in place.

The age of each bus will not exceed three years, and they will be equipped with safety features. A professionally trained bus attendant will be on board. Additionally, Flix will introduce gender-based seating arrangements in India, meaning a seat next to a woman can only be reserved by another woman.
