Brussels Airlines Partners with Belgian Artisans for Exclusive Amenity Kits

Brussels Airlines continues its journey to create a boutique hotel experience in the skies with the introduction of an exclusive collaboration with three prominent Belgian Artisans. Handbag designer Griet Aesaert, skincare expert Barbara Geusens of Nomige, and artist Elisia Poelman have teamed up to design amenity kits for business class passengers on Brussels Airlines’ long-haul flights.

The Belgian flag carrier has a history of successful collaborations with renowned Belgian brands such as Natan and Rainpharma, aiming to elevate the in-flight experience. This time, the collaboration spotlights the creative talents of three remarkable craftswomen who understand the essence of design, style, and comfort.

Brussels Airlines is committed to showcasing the best of Belgium, and this collaboration underscores its “Belgitude.” Sandy Coenen, Inflight Product Equipment Manager at Brussels Airlines, stated, “A collaboration with three Belgian Artisans fits perfectly. It also underlines our Belgitude, where we show the world the best of Belgium.”

The amenity kits, designed by these talented artisans, aim to offer business class passengers a unique collector’s item that reflects the heart of Belgian craftsmanship. The collaboration is set to run for two years, with a fresh design and color introduced every six months, resulting in four distinct amenity kits during this period.

Belgian Artisans:

Griet Aesaert – The Timeless Pouch Griet Aesaert, the renowned handbag designer behind the Aesaert label, brings her signature timeless designs made from high-quality Belgian leather to the project. Her creation for the amenity kit is a stylish pouch known for its exceptional inner linings, which provide her designs with a distinctive appearance. Aesaert’s passion for tailoring and her commitment to crafting personalized bags immediately resonated with the project. As she states, “Tailoring is part of our DNA. As soon as I heard about the idea to create colorful amenity kits for Brussels Airlines, I immediately thought about Elisia Poelman.”

Elisia Poelman – Dreamy Inner Linings Elisia Poelman, the artist, and her distinctive work are a vital part of the amenity kit. Poelman is known for stimulating imagination with her paintings, and her contribution to the kit encourages travelers not only to embark on a physical journey but also to explore their imagination. The inner linings of the amenity kit feature an extraction from Poelman’s artwork, “A tourist in a dream.” The eye masks included in the kit also bear an impression of her work. A selection of her art will soon be on display at The Loft, a Brussels Airlines’ lounge in Brussels Airport.

Nomige – Tailor-Made Skincare Dr. Barbara Geusens, the skincare expert and founder of Nomige, complements this collaboration with her scientific expertise. Nomige is renowned for its personalized and innovative personal care products. Geusens has created a specially tailored lip balm and lotion for Brussels Airlines, designed to care for passengers’ skin during long flights. She shared her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “These products are designed specifically to take care of your skin during a long flight.”
