A-ROSA Set to Expand Fleet for the 2024 Season with Two New Premium Ships

A-ROSA is gearing up for an exciting expansion as it prepares to welcome two new premium ships to its fleet for the 2024 season. These 110-meter-long vessels, named A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA, are set to embark on the picturesque waters of the Rhine, offering travelers enhanced experiences on its most sought-after itineraries.

The expansion doesn’t stop there. Come the beginning of the 2025 season, one of these ships will be relocated to the Seine River in northern France, taking passengers on an enchanting journey from the heart of Paris to the picturesque Le Havre on the Atlantic coast. Simultaneously, A-ROSA VIVA, currently navigating the Seine, will return to the Rhine.

In a subsequent move in 2026, the second ship will be transported to the Gironde/Garonne region in Bordeaux, France, marking a new chapter in A-ROSA’s exploration of the scenic rivers of France.

Jörg Eichler, the CEO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH, expressed his enthusiasm for these new additions, saying, “We are really excited to have contracted two more ships into our fleet at short notice, and this move really couldn’t have come at a better time.” He highlighted the company’s stellar performance, anticipating record-breaking guest numbers and revenue for the 2023 season. Eichler stated, “Furthermore, we expect to finish the year with a year-on-year increase in revenue of over 40%.”

Eichler added, “We are seeing the greatest demand for bookings on the Rhine, so to initially start the ships on this river next season makes total sense.”

The two new ships, A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA, will explore the Rhine, offering passengers the opportunity to cruise to enchanting destinations like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Basel, Strasbourg, and the picturesque Moselle itinerary to Trier. Travel enthusiasts eager to experience these new vessels can book their journeys starting from October 2023.

Built in 2009 in the Netherlands, the new additions to the A-ROSA fleet are designed to meet guests’ expectations, offering all the amenities for a luxurious and comfortable river cruise. Each ship can accommodate up to 138 guests in spacious 16-square-meter cabins, featuring French balconies on decks two and three or windows on deck one. Additionally, two or four 24-square-meter suites, depending on the ship, provide even more opulent accommodations. Passengers can also enjoy a whirlpool, fitness room, and three distinct lounges, including an outdoor area on the bow of the ship.

A-ROSA’s new ships will follow the successful culinary concept already offered on the Douro River by A-ROSA ALVA. Guests will relish buffet breakfast and lunch, while starters and desserts are chosen from the buffet, and the main course is served conveniently at their table.

Coinciding with these remarkable developments, A-ROSA has been recently honored with the top position in a brand ranking of river cruise operators. A cruise study conducted by market research institute Innolink, with the participation of 191 travel agencies, was published by leading German trade publication fvw | TravelTalk. A-ROSA received accolades for its culinary offerings, service quality, cabin standards, captivating destinations and itineraries, as well as compelling shore excursions.

With the introduction of A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA, A-ROSA is set to elevate the river cruise experience and continue its journey as a leader in the industry. Travelers can look forward to exploring Europe’s most stunning waterways with comfort, style, and culinary excellence in the coming seasons.
