Ultrahuman Launches Emerald Update With AI-Powered Wearable Decision Engine

Ultrahuman has announced the global rollout of the Emerald Update, the largest software update in the company’s history, introducing more than 15 new and redesigned features led by UltraSphere, which it describes as the world’s first wearable decision engine.

Available free to all Ultrahuman users, the update redesigns the Ultrahuman app with a stronger focus on turning health data into actionable recommendations, while also introducing on-device processing, improved workout tracking and expanded health insights.

UltraSphere Delivers Personalized Health Guidance

At the heart of the Emerald Update is UltraSphere, an AI-powered decision engine that generates more than 60 personalized “Next Best Actions” based on a user’s physiological data.

Working alongside Ultrahuman’s Jade AI biointelligence platform, UltraSphere analyzes sleep quality, recovery, heart rate variability (HRV), skin temperature, stress, movement, menstrual cycle phase and glucose data from Ultrahuman’s M1 and M2 Live continuous glucose monitors.

The recommendations also consider location, weather conditions and circadian rhythms to provide personalized guidance for different lifestyles, including athletes, shift workers, frequent travelers, parents and people recovering from jet lag.

Suggested actions range from encouraging morning sunlight exposure and afternoon walks to advising users when to stop consuming caffeine or begin winding down before bedtime.

“All wearable trackers generate data. Data is empowering, but people do need something more than a number – they want to know what to do,” said Mohit Kumar, CEO of Ultrahuman. “The Emerald Update is focused on making data actionable, adding layers of biointelligence that finally answer the question of ‘so what?’ with context and insight at every layer.”

Redesigned Interface Improves Health Insights

Emerald introduces a completely redesigned user interface featuring both light and dark modes. The Ring tab now presents contextual health information, while Jade AI receives its own dedicated section where users can view personalized recommendations based on sleep, movement, recovery, blood tests and glucose monitoring.

The redesign aims to simplify complex health information, making it easier for users to understand daily trends and long-term wellbeing.

Offline Processing Keeps Health Data Available Anywhere

One of the update’s biggest technical improvements is the shift to on-device processing. Health analysis is now performed directly on the Ultrahuman Ring, allowing users to access live metrics, recovery scores, stress levels and AI recommendations even without an internet connection.

This enables continuous health insights while traveling, flying or visiting remote locations where connectivity may be unavailable.

More Accurate Workout Tracking

The Emerald Update also rebuilds workout tracking for Ring PRO and Ring AIR with improved automatic workout detection and enhanced heart-rate algorithms validated against clinical reference devices.

Users can now integrate third-party fitness devices, including Apple Watch, Garmin, WHOOP, compatible chest-strap heart-rate monitors and AirPods (3rd generation), allowing workouts to be recorded using their preferred hardware while remaining within the Ultrahuman ecosystem.

Improved VOâ‚‚ Max Accuracy

Ultrahuman says it has upgraded its VOâ‚‚ Max algorithm, improving accuracy by 21% following validation against cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) conducted on more than 100 participants.

According to the company, the updated model estimates VOâ‚‚ Max within 5 mL/kg/min of laboratory measurements, providing a more precise indicator of cardiovascular fitness and long-term health.

Expanded Health Features

The Emerald Update introduces several new tools across the Ultrahuman platform, including:

  • Sleep Screener, combining sleep duration, respiratory health, body temperature, smart alarms and AFib detection (where available) into a single overnight report.
  • Longevity Tab, bringing together UltraAge, Pulse Age, Blood Age, Brain Age and VOâ‚‚ Max metrics.
  • Connections, allowing users to securely share sleep, recovery, HRV, steps and, for the first time, menstrual cycle and ovulation data with partners or family members.
  • Windows, displaying optimal timing for caffeine intake, Vitamin D exposure, circadian rhythms and screen use throughout the day.
  • Live View, showing real-time heart rate, stress and training zones directly from the home screen.
  • Contextual Content, offering personalized educational articles based on real-time physiological changes.
  • Goals, providing weekly activity targets and progress summaries.
  • PowerPlugs, a redesigned library of modular health features including AFib Detection, Cycle & Ovulation Pro, Respiratory Health and Jade AI.

Available Globally

The Emerald Update is rolling out worldwide as a free software update for all Ultrahuman users.

The launch further expands Ultrahuman’s connected health ecosystem, which includes Ring PRO, Ring AIR, Blood Vision, M1 Live continuous glucose monitoring and Ultrahuman Home. In 2025, the company was named one of TIME’s World’s Top HealthTech Companies for its contribution to preventive healthcare and accessible health technology.
