Dubai’s Palm Monorail Reopens After Major Upgrade

Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah Monorail has reopened following several months of scheduled maintenance and station modernisation, restoring full transport links across one of the emirate’s most popular tourist destinations.

The 5.5-kilometre elevated railway, which runs along the trunk of Palm Jumeirah, had been closed since January while infrastructure upgrades and station improvements were carried out.

Four Stations Across Palm Jumeirah

The monorail connects four stations along the artificial island: Palm Gateway, Al Ittihad Park, Palm Jumeirah Mall (formerly Nakheel Mall), and Atlantis Aquaventure.

The line provides a convenient alternative to road transport for both residents and visitors, allowing passengers to travel across Palm Jumeirah while avoiding traffic congestion.

Ticket Prices and Operating Hours

Passengers can purchase tickets online, choosing from single, return, family or unlimited travel passes.

A one-way ticket costs AED 5 per person, while a return journey is priced at AED 10.

The Palm Jumeirah Monorail operates daily, with trains departing every 15 minutes. According to the operator’s schedule, the first train leaves Palm Gateway station at 9:00 a.m., with the final departure at 9:45 p.m. From Atlantis Aquaventure, the first service departs at 9:15 a.m. and the last train leaves at 10:00 p.m.

Popular Tourist Transport

The monorail remains one of Dubai’s most recognisable transport attractions, offering elevated views of Palm Jumeirah while providing direct access to major landmarks, shopping destinations and the Atlantis resort. Its reopening restores a key transport link for visitors exploring the island during Dubai’s busy tourism season.
