Rocco Forte Hotels has become the first luxury hotel brand to partner with Sion, a travel technology platform designed to modernise how travel advisor commissions are managed and paid.
The partnership aims to simplify one of the travel industry’s longest-standing operational challenges by offering faster payments, greater transparency and reduced administrative work for travel advisors and agencies.
Commission Payments in as Little as Two Hours
Through the Sion platform, travel advisors can receive commission payments within 24 to 48 hours after processing, with some payments arriving in as little as two hours. Traditional commission systems often require advisors to wait several weeks or even months before receiving payment.
The platform also offers competitive foreign exchange rates and eliminates payment fees, allowing advisors to retain the full value of their earned commissions.
Addressing Long-Standing Industry Challenges
Rocco Forte Hotels worked closely with Sion during the platform’s development, helping design a system that improves visibility into commission status while reducing manual administration and reconciliation.
Irving Betesh, Founder and CEO of Sion, said commission payments have remained one of the travel industry’s biggest operational frustrations and praised Rocco Forte Hotels for recognising that improving the process strengthens relationships with travel advisors as well as operational efficiency.
Supporting the Travel Advisor Community
Sir Rocco Forte, Chairman and Founder of Rocco Forte Hotels, said travel advisors play a vital role in the company’s business and deserve a commission process that reflects the value they bring. He added that the partnership demonstrates the hotel’s commitment to becoming one of the easiest luxury hospitality brands for advisors to work with.
In addition to faster payments, Sion provides advisors with greater transparency throughout the commission process, enabling agencies to track payment status more easily and simplify financial reconciliation.
Early Feedback from Travel Agencies
Travel agencies already using the platform have welcomed the improvements. CUBE Travel said the enhanced transparency provides better visibility of outstanding and incoming commission payments, helping improve cash flow management and financial forecasting.
Brownell Travel also reported that Sion’s detailed payment information has simplified reconciliation and enabled the agency to pay its advisors more quickly.
The partnership reflects a broader trend within the travel industry toward digitalising back-office processes, allowing advisors to spend less time managing commission administration and more time serving clients.
