Authorities in Russian-occupied Crimea have announced a temporary suspension of bookings and admissions to children’s summer camps and sanatoriums across the peninsula until September 1.
The restrictions also apply to the accommodation of children and organized youth groups participating in tourism, educational and recreational activities.
Bookings Suspended Until September
Under the new measures, camp operators and health resorts will no longer accept new reservations or admit additional children during the suspension period.
The restrictions extend beyond traditional summer camps and also cover other accommodation facilities hosting children’s groups for tourism, educational programs and similar activities.
Officials have not specified how many facilities will be affected by the decision.
Some Planned Arrivals Will Continue
Despite the new restrictions, several previously scheduled arrivals are expected to proceed.
Authorities in Sevastopol said planned arrivals at three children’s camps in the city will take place on June 24 and June 25 as scheduled.
New Restrictions Amid Security Concerns
The move comes as Russian authorities continue to tighten security measures in Crimea amid ongoing attacks and heightened military tensions linked to the war in Ukraine.
Crimea has repeatedly been targeted by drone attacks, missile strikes and other security incidents since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
