Eurostar Unveils New Organic Wine Menu For Premier Passengers This Summer

Eurostar has introduced a new wine menu for passengers traveling in its Premier carriages, bringing a fresh selection of organic, biodynamic and low-intervention wines onboard ahead of the busy summer travel season.

The updated offering has been curated by Head Sommelier Honey Spencer, who joined Eurostar’s culinary panel in October 2024. The new list reflects growing consumer interest in sustainability, artisan producers and carefully sourced wines, while also complementing the premium dining experience available to business class travelers.

The refreshed selection aims to deliver wines that are approachable, expressive and well-suited to rail travel, offering passengers a taste of southern France while crossing between some of Europe’s busiest cities.

Organic And Sustainable Wines Take Center Stage

The summer wine menu features five wines sourced from the Languedoc-Roussillon region in southern France. The collection includes two white wines, two rosés and one red wine, with approximately 80% of the wines served onboard now certified organic.

According to Spencer, the focus on organic and low-intervention winemaking allows the wines to express greater clarity, freshness and character. The approach also aligns with broader trends in the hospitality industry, where travelers increasingly value sustainability and authentic local production.

Rather than relying on internationally recognized wine brands, Eurostar has chosen to spotlight smaller producers and family-owned vineyards, offering passengers an opportunity to discover lesser-known labels during their journey.

Designed To Pair With Eurostar’s Premium Dining Experience

The wine selection has been carefully developed to complement the onboard menus created by chef Jeremy Chan, known for his Michelin-starred restaurant Ikoyi. His cuisine is recognized for bold flavors, layered ingredients and complex spice profiles, creating unique pairing challenges for the wine program.

Spencer explained that French wines have proven particularly successful alongside the current menu, delivering the balance and freshness needed to support the food without overpowering it.

The sole red wine on the list has been selected with onboard consumption in mind. While offering depth and structure, it has been produced in a lighter style that allows it to be served slightly chilled, making it more approachable for travelers throughout the day.

Creating A Distinctive Experience For Rail Travelers

Eurostar’s onboard service team says the goal is to create a more memorable premium experience through carefully selected wines that reflect sustainability, craftsmanship and regional character.

The decision to focus on organic, biodynamic and sustainable wines also mirrors changing passenger expectations, particularly among business and leisure travelers seeking higher-quality food and beverage experiences during their journeys.

By highlighting boutique producers and family-run vineyards, Eurostar hopes to offer something more distinctive than a traditional business class drinks menu, while supporting winemakers committed to environmentally responsible production methods.

Premium Rail Travel Continues To Evolve

The launch of the new summer wine list forms part of Eurostar’s broader effort to enhance its premium onboard offering as rail travel continues to attract travelers looking for comfortable and sustainable alternatives to short-haul flights.

With demand for high-quality culinary experiences growing across the travel sector, curated wine programs are becoming an increasingly important part of the passenger journey. Eurostar’s latest menu demonstrates how food and beverage offerings can help differentiate premium rail services while introducing travelers to new producers and regional flavors.

As summer travel volumes increase across Europe, Premier passengers can expect a wine selection focused on freshness, sustainability and discoverability, bringing a taste of southern France to journeys across the continent.
