The PEAK LAKE GARDA 42 running festival will return in April 2027 as organizers prepare for another large international gathering around one of Europe’s most scenic marathon destinations.
The sixth edition of the event is scheduled to take place between April 9 and April 11, 2027, bringing thousands of runners back to northern Italy for a weekend combining competition, tourism and outdoor experiences.
Demand for participation remains extremely strong following another sold-out edition that reached capacity months before race weekend.
Lake Garda Running Festival Continues International Expansion
The event has evolved from a regional marathon into an increasingly international running festival attracting participants from around the world.
Recent editions have seen runners arriving from dozens of countries, reflecting growing international interest in destination sports tourism.
Organizers say international participation continues increasing while domestic Italian runners now represent a relatively small share of total entries.
The race weekend has become one of the region’s major sporting tourism events.
Multiple Race Formats Return For 2027 Edition
Participants will once again have several race options available across the weekend.
The marathon route begins in Limone sul Garda while half marathon participants start from Arco before both races finish together in Malcesine.
Additional events include trail running competitions, community runs and youth-focused activities designed to expand participation beyond traditional marathon runners.
Organizers continue positioning the festival as an experience designed for both competitive athletes and recreational participants.
Demand Expected To Remain Extremely High
The popularity of previous editions has already generated significant interest for 2027 registrations.
Organizers expect approximately 5,000 runners to participate again, with places split between marathon and half marathon events.
The combination of mountain scenery, lakeside routes and international atmosphere has helped transform the festival into one of Europe’s increasingly recognized destination running events.
Registration for the 2027 edition is expected to open during summer as organizers prepare for another high-demand race weekend.
