Emirates has unveiled a new UAE flag livery on one of its Airbus A380 aircraft, extending the airline’s long-running national branding across the jet’s fuselage. The design appears on the airline’s Airbus A6-EVG and builds on the flag motif already used on the aircraft’s tailfin.
The new artwork continues Emirates’ established visual identity, which has become one of the most recognisable liveries in global aviation. The airline has used the UAE flag and colours for years as part of its brand image.
No further operational details were provided with the unveiling, and the airline did not announce any changes to the aircraft’s route schedule.
The A380 remains a flagship aircraft for Emirates and a major part of its long-haul network. The latest livery update adds a fresh version of a familiar national symbol to a plane already known for its distinctive look.
The special flag livery is one of many that have marked special national events and commemorations in the UAE. In 2017, the airline featured a customised decal of the late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, with a bespoke livery for its 100th A380. The initiative marked the airline’s first initiative for the ‘Year of Zayed’, with 10 aircraft flying the special livery. That same year, the airline revealed the first of 40 aircraft carrying livery designs dedicated to Expo 2020 Dubai.
