Zannier Île de Bendor has officially opened, unveiling a transformed private island destination off the coast of southern France after a five-year redevelopment.
The project, led by Zannier Hotels in partnership with Société Paul Ricard, reintroduces the island as a 93-key luxury retreat blending heritage with contemporary design.
A Historic Island Reimagined
Located near Bandol, the seven-hectare island was originally developed in 1950 by Paul Ricard as a social and cultural gathering place.
The new vision preserves this legacy while repositioning the destination for modern travellers, with a Provençal-style village concept spread across three distinct areas: Delos, Soukana and Madrague.
Each offers a different experience, from Riviera-inspired elegance to wellness-focused stays and family-friendly residences.
Wellness Takes Centre Stage
A key feature of the reopening is the 1,200-square-metre Rēsonance Spa, one of the largest wellness facilities in the region.
The spa combines traditional therapies with advanced diagnostics, offering personalised wellness programmes based on bioresonance analysis, body composition assessments and tailored treatments.
Facilities include hammam, cryotherapy, acupuncture, yoga and a thermal circuit, reflecting a growing demand for integrated wellbeing experiences.
Dining And Social Experiences Across The Island
The destination introduces eight dining venues, including concepts led by Michelin-starred chef Lionel Lévy.
Options range from fine dining at Le Grand Large to casual beachfront experiences and the return of the Nonna Bazaar concept, focusing on shared Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
Bars, lounges and social spaces are designed to create a lively yet refined atmosphere throughout the island.
Art, Culture And Craft Integrated Into The Experience
More than 200 artworks are displayed across the island, curated by Oraé Gallery, alongside a dedicated artisan village where guests can engage with resident creators through workshops and exhibitions.
This cultural layer reinforces the property’s positioning as more than a resort, offering immersive experiences rooted in creativity and local identity.
Strategic Expansion For Zannier Hotels
The opening marks the sixth property for Zannier Hotels, adding to its portfolio across Europe, Africa and Asia.
It also reflects the brand’s broader expansion into lifestyle-driven hospitality, including private estates and residential offerings.
A New Riviera Destination Emerges
With its blend of heritage, design, wellness and gastronomy, Zannier Île de Bendor is positioned as a new focal point on the French Riviera.
The project signals continued demand for exclusive, experience-led destinations that combine privacy with cultural depth and high-end hospitality.
