Locke is set to expand its London footprint with the opening of a new property in Canary Wharf this May, marking its sixth site in the capital and introducing a new flagship concept for the brand.
The development, known as Locke Canary Wharf, will span 19 floors and include 279 rooms, combining the brand’s signature design-led approach with extended-stay functionality. Positioned on the waterfront, the property will offer sweeping views across the East London skyline, reinforcing Canary Wharf’s evolution into a mixed-use district that blends business, residential and leisure appeal.
Designed by Holloway Li, the interiors will reflect Locke’s contemporary aesthetic, balancing bold design with practical living spaces. Alongside guest accommodation, the property will feature expansive communal areas tailored for co-working, meetings and social interaction, as well as an all-day café concept at ground level.
A defining addition will come later in the year with the launch of Locke’s first rooftop restaurant and bar, introducing an elevated food and beverage offering with curated menus and panoramic views over London.
The opening represents a strategic step for Locke as it continues to scale in major European cities. The Canary Wharf property joins an established London portfolio that includes Buckle Street Studios by Locke, Locke at Broken Wharf, Leman Locke and Bermonds Locke. A previous site, Kingsland Locke in Dalston, has since transitioned to the Staycity brand.
Part of the edyn group, Locke has grown steadily since launching its first London location in 2016. The brand now operates 14 properties across Europe, with a presence in cities such as Berlin, Paris, Dublin and Munich, alongside UK locations including Cambridge, Liverpool and Edinburgh.
The Canary Wharf opening signals continued confidence in the aparthotel model, particularly in urban districts where flexible living, workspaces and lifestyle-driven hospitality are increasingly in demand.
