In June 2026, Orient Express will launch one of the most ambitious wellness concepts ever conceived at sea with the debut of the Guerlain Spa aboard Orient Express Sailing Yachts. The new spa will open onboard Orient Express Corinthian, the world’s largest sailing yacht, marking a landmark moment in ultra-luxury travel.
The collaboration unites two historic French maisons whose names are synonymous with refinement, craftsmanship, and the art of living. For more than 140 years, Orient Express has represented the pinnacle of slow, elegant travel, while Guerlain, founded in 1828, has shaped the world of high perfumery, cosmetics, and holistic wellness for nearly two centuries.
Now, that shared heritage takes to the seas.
A sanctuary of wellness at the heart of the yacht
At the centre of Orient Express Corinthian lies the Guerlain Spa, a 500-square-metre sanctuary designed as a space of stillness, sensory immersion, and renewal. The spa features four treatment suites, including a VIP double suite for couples, a sauna, a relaxation lounge, a barber studio, an elegant beauty salon, a fitness area, and a lap lane with open-sky views over the sea.
Each treatment is conceived as a journey rather than a procedure, reflecting both brands’ philosophy of travel as a transformative experience. Silence, touch, scent, and rhythm are carefully orchestrated to reconnect guests with both inner calm and the surrounding ocean.
“This alliance unites two French icons of elegance and savoir-faire,” said Philippe Hetland-Brault, President of Orient Express Sailing Yachts. “Together with Guerlain, we are creating a sanctuary where beauty, refinement, and discovery converge – journeys that are as enriching for the soul as they are unforgettable.”
Exclusive Guerlain rituals inspired by the sea
Guerlain has created a collection of spa experiences exclusively for Orient Express Sailing Yachts. These bespoke rituals draw inspiration from the movement of the sea, natural elements, and the poetry of exploration.
Wave Serenity uses cool, wave-like spoons and expert gestures to soothe and illuminate the face, complemented by a gentle leg massage. Aqua Odyssey rebalances body rhythms through energising pressures inspired by the Aqua Allegoria fragrance gardens. Soleil Plein Sud prepares and regenerates sun-kissed skin in a luminous, honey-infused ritual, while Ocean Awakening alternates warm and cool sensations to release tension and restore vitality.
Beyond individual treatments, Guerlain also curates holistic wellness retreats for guests throughout the voyage. Structured around four essential pillars – nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and mindfulness – these programmes include guided meditation, movement sessions, spa rituals, and immersive nature experiences led by Guerlain wellness experts.
Gabrielle Saint-Genis, CEO of Guerlain, described the partnership as “a new chapter in luxury wellness, where beauty transcends the physical and becomes a complete sensorial experience at sea.”
A floating palace inspired by the art of living
Measuring 220 metres in length and crowned with three towering sails, Orient Express Corinthian is designed as a modern icon of slow luxury. The yacht accommodates just 54 suites, ranging from 43 to 225 square metres, each offering panoramic sea views and an atmosphere of understated grandeur.
Built in France at Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the interiors were designed by architect and artistic director Maxime d’Angeac. Handcrafted materials, curated artworks, sculptural furnishings, and vintage-inspired lighting evoke the feel of a floating palace.
Sustainability is integral to the yacht’s design, with advanced wind propulsion, energy optimisation systems, and environmentally conscious construction aimed at reducing its footprint without compromising elegance.
Onboard life extends beyond the spa. Guests can explore a library of 1,500 rare books, attend intimate concerts in a musical salon, or enjoy cinema screenings inspired by the golden age of film. Culinary experiences are led by multi-Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, whose cuisine is conceived as an extension of the yacht’s sensorial philosophy.
Orient Express Corinthian will begin sailing the Mediterranean in June 2026, followed by a Caribbean season starting in October 2026.
