American Airlines has introduced AAdvantage Pass, a new offer that grants travellers immediate elite status and additional loyalty perks for a fixed price of USD 5,000. The programme provides instant entry into AAdvantage Gold, the airline’s introductory elite tier, along with substantial mileage and loyalty point bonuses.

Customers who purchase the pass receive AAdvantage Gold status, 100,000 AAdvantage miles and 15,000 loyalty points. Gold status is normally earned by accumulating 40,000 loyalty points through flight purchases or spending on co-branded American Airlines credit cards.

AAdvantage Gold benefits include priority check-in and boarding, a complimentary checked bag, free preferred seat selection and space-available upgrades within 24 hours of departure. Travellers also earn a 40 percent bonus on both miles and loyalty points when flying with American Airlines or eligible partners.

The introduction of AAdvantage Pass marks a notable shift in the airline’s approach to loyalty, providing a direct pathway to elite status without the traditional spending or flying requirements.
