Morocco’s flag carrier is heading north. Starting January 2026, Royal Air Maroc will open a brand-new direct route linking Casablanca with St Petersburg — a journey that once demanded a layover, now turned into a smooth overnight hop between the Atlantic and the Baltic.
Flights will depart Casablanca on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 23:10, landing in St Petersburg at 6:55 a.m. the following day. The return leg leaves Pulkovo Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8:05 a.m., touching down in Casablanca at 11:45 a.m. — just in time for a mid-morning espresso under the Moroccan sun.
“This step strengthens our presence in Russia and reflects our commitment to connecting Morocco and the African continent with the world’s leading economic and cultural hubs,” said Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc.
The airline already runs a daily service between Casablanca and Moscow, but this new route adds a fresh, northern chapter to its network — one that ties together two cities with strong personalities and plenty of style.
The announcement follows last week’s visit of Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita to Moscow, where the two nations signed a memorandum to deepen strategic cooperation through a new intergovernmental committee. “We have 188 agreements in place with Russia across all sectors — more than with any other country,” Bourita noted at a press conference.
So come January, the idea of waking up to Russian snow after a night spent leaving African shores won’t sound far-fetched at all — just the start of a new story on the rails of the sky.
