Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport, which serves 101 destinations, has been named the world’s friendliest airport, according to a new study by the travel service company Airport Parking & Hotels. Nearly 74% of passengers praised the warmth and professionalism of its staff, using words such as “friendly” (129 mentions), “helpful” (106), and “professional” (42) in their reviews.
The UK’s Newquay Cornwall Airport ranked second, with 73.3% of travelers highlighting its welcoming service. The regional hub handled around 160,000 passengers last summer, many of whom commended the staff’s genuine hospitality.
Japan’s Narita International Airport came third with 73.1% positive mentions. Known for its extensive range of restaurants, beauty salons, and lounges, Narita offers travelers a comfortable and engaging experience during their journeys.
In fourth place was another UK hub, Southampton Airport, which received 70.9% favorable reviews. Rounding out the top five is the United States’ Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona, praised for its friendliness by 70.4% of respondents.
The study analyzed more than 71,000 Google reviews from passengers across 120 of the world’s busiest airports, focusing on keywords such as “friendly,” “efficient,” and “polite” when evaluating staff behavior and service quality.
