Turkish Airlines Places Landmark Order for up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Eyes 150 More 737 MAX Jets

Boeing and Turkish Airlines yesterday announced a historic agreement for up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners—the flag carrier’s largest-ever widebody order. The deal includes 35 787-9s, 15 787-10s, and purchase rights for 25 more Dreamliners, supporting more than 123,000 U.S. jobs and significantly expanding the airline’s global fleet.

In a parallel move, Turkish Airlines unveiled plans to acquire up to 150 additional 737 MAX airplanes, which would mark its biggest Boeing single-aisle purchase once finalized. Combined, these transactions will double the carrier’s Boeing fleet as it scales operations to meet rising international demand.

“This landmark agreement represents much more than fleet growth—it underscores our leadership in aviation and our 2033 Vision of expanding our fleet to 800 aircraft,” said Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee at Turkish Airlines.

Currently operating more than 200 Boeing jets, Turkish Airlines will leverage the added capacity of the 787-10 for long-haul routes to the U.S., Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, while benefitting from the model’s advanced fuel efficiency and passenger comfort features.

Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said: “We are honored that Turkish Airlines has once again chosen the 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX to power its future growth. As a proud partner to Türkiye for 80 years, we look forward to supporting their expansion and delivering exceptional experiences to their passengers.”

Boeing’s longstanding presence in Türkiye includes $2 billion in supply chain investments and nearly 5,000 local jobs, strengthening its role as a global aerospace hub.
