Russian airline Red Wings has announced it will offer free flights to fans of Jennifer Lopez who missed her concert in Yerevan due to a canceled flight. The airline says it’s committed to helping affected passengers attend one of the singer’s future performances within its flight network.
The gesture follows the cancellation of flight WZ-4329 from Sochi to Yerevan on August 3. According to AVIA.RU and Russia’s state corporation Rostec, the flight was delayed and ultimately canceled due to adverse weather, a drone attack that caused a fire at Sochi’s oil refinery, and restrictions in the airspace known as “Kover.”
Several passengers on that flight were specifically traveling to Armenia to attend Jennifer Lopez’s concert — and were left disappointed after missing the event. In response, Red Wings is now stepping up.
“We understand how disappointing it is to miss a concert by your favorite artist,” Red Wings said in a statement. “That’s why we’ll help passengers from the canceled flight attend another Jennifer Lopez concert in one of the cities we serve — for example, Tel Aviv, Baku, or Batumi. We’ll cover the airfare.”
