Emirates Resumes Flights to Edinburgh After 4.5 Years

On Tuesday, November 4, Emirates marked its return to Edinburgh after a four-and-a-half-year hiatus, landing its first flight in the Scottish capital since suspending the route in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline will now offer daily flights between Edinburgh and Dubai, using Boeing 777-200(LR) aircraft configured for 302 passengers across business and economy classes.

Originally, Emirates planned to reintroduce this route with the newer Airbus A350-900s in September, but delivery delays mean that the Boeing 777-200(LR) will operate until mid-January 2025, when the A350-900 is expected to take over. The return of Emirates to Edinburgh underscores the growing recovery and demand for long-haul travel to and from Scotland, providing travelers with a convenient connection to Dubai and onward destinations.

With this daily service, Emirates reaffirms its commitment to expanding connectivity for Scottish travelers and enhancing access to the UAE.
