Documentation Approved for Future Pulkovo Metro Station in St. Petersburg

The planning documentation for the future Pulkovo metro station has been prepared and approved, with its opening scheduled for 2028.

Governor Alexander Beglov announced that the General Plan includes the extension of the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya metro line from the “Prospekt Veteranov” station to the “Pulkovo” station. Additionally, two more platforms, “Ulyanka” and “Aviagorodok,” will be constructed between these stations. The first phase is expected to be completed by 2030. The city administration also revealed plans to open several more stations extending from Pulkovo to the Pushkin district by 2040.

Previously, the issue of transport accessibility to Pulkovo Airport was discussed at the state level. Officials were tasked with exploring options to ensure high-speed passenger connections between the St. Petersburg metropolitan area and Pulkovo Airport, including extending metro lines.
