Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance and Polish airline LOT Polish Airlines have extended a long-running component support agreement for the Boeing B737 family. The renewed deal covers 31 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft in LOT’s fleet and runs until 2033.
The agreement keeps AFI KLM E&M responsible for supporting the carrier’s B737 MAX operations over the coming years. It deepens a partnership that has already lasted for many years and covers maintenance support for key aircraft components.
The extension is aimed at ensuring continued technical backing for one of the airline’s main narrow-body fleets. LOT operates the 31 B737-8 MAX aircraft covered by the arrangement.
AFI KLM E&M, the maintenance arm of Air France Industries and KLM, provides engineering and component services to airlines around the world. Its work typically includes the repair, management and supply of parts needed to keep aircraft in service.
The Boeing 737 MAX series has become a major part of many short and medium-haul fleets globally. For LOT, the aircraft type is an important part of its operating model as it serves routes across Europe and beyond.
Component support agreements are common in commercial aviation because they help airlines control costs and maintain aircraft availability. Such deals can also give carriers predictable access to parts and technical expertise over multiple years.
By extending the contract to 2033, AFI KLM E&M and LOT are signalling confidence in a continued long-term working relationship. The agreement also suggests the Polish carrier expects its B737-8 MAX fleet to remain central to its network for years to come.
