French bee is expanding its Indian Ocean network with the launch of new services to the Maldives and Sri Lanka, adding two of the region’s most sought-after leisure destinations to its route map.
The French long-haul low-cost carrier has opened bookings for flights to Malé and Colombo, with operations scheduled to begin on 19 December 2026. Both destinations will be served exclusively from Paris-Orly Airport.
The new routes form part of French bee’s strategy to diversify its network and target growing demand for long-haul leisure travel from France.
Maldives And Sri Lanka Added To Network
The airline will operate the services using a triangular routing linking Paris-Orly, Malé and Colombo before returning to Paris. The schedule gives travellers the option of visiting either destination individually or combining both countries into a single itinerary.
French bee said the route combines two complementary travel markets: luxury beach tourism in the Maldives and the rapidly growing cultural, wellness and nature tourism sector in Sri Lanka.
According to CEO Marc-Antoine Blondeau, the new services target a high-potential market that currently has limited direct connectivity from France.
Introductory Fares Announced
The airline has introduced promotional return fares starting from €599 in Economy and €1,365 in Premium for Colombo.
Flights to Malé will start from €649 return in Economy and €1,399 in Premium.
French bee’s low-cost model allows passengers to customize their journey through optional services and add-ons, paying only for the products they choose.
Seasonal Operations Through Spring 2027
The new services will operate on a seasonal basis between 19 December 2026 and 2 May 2027, with frequencies adjusted to match demand during peak travel periods.
During the Christmas and New Year season, French bee will operate two weekly triangular flights connecting Paris, the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
Additional direct Paris-Colombo flights will be introduced from January 2027, with the schedule evolving throughout the winter and spring seasons to focus increasingly on demand for Sri Lanka.
Indian Ocean Expansion Continues
The launch strengthens French bee’s presence in the Indian Ocean, a region that continues to attract strong interest from European travellers seeking warm-weather destinations during the northern hemisphere winter.
With the addition of Malé and Colombo, the airline continues to expand its portfolio of long-haul leisure routes while offering passengers more affordable access to some of the world’s most popular island and cultural tourism destinations.
