Davidson Hospitality Group is expanding its presence across the Florida Keys after being selected to manage Parrot Key Hotel & Villas in Key West, adding another major resort to its growing regional portfolio.
The appointment comes alongside plans for a substantial renovation program aimed at repositioning the waterfront property within one of Florida’s most competitive leisure markets.
The move further strengthens Davidson’s position as one of the largest hospitality operators across the Keys.
Key West Resort To Undergo Renovation This Summer
Located less than three miles from Old Town Key West, Parrot Key Hotel & Villas currently offers 148 rooms, suites and villas spread across five acres of landscaped grounds.
The upcoming renovation program will include upgrades to the restaurant, reconfiguration of public spaces and improvements to exterior areas throughout the resort.
Ownership and Davidson Hospitality say the project aims to create a more premium guest experience while improving communal spaces and resort amenities.
The property currently features four swimming pools, multiple accommodation types and direct partnerships for water-based excursions including snorkeling and jet ski experiences.
Davidson Expands Large Florida Keys Portfolio
The addition significantly expands Davidson Hospitality Group’s already substantial Florida Keys footprint.
The company currently manages multiple resorts throughout the region including properties in Key Largo, Islamorada and Key West.
Its existing portfolio includes Baker’s Cay Resort in Key Largo, Amara Cay Resort, La Siesta Resort & Villas and Three Waters Resort & Marina in Islamorada alongside the Key West Historic Inns collection.
The company says operational experience within the destination was one of the key reasons behind the appointment.
Key West Competition Continues Driving Hotel Investment
The renovation arrives as hospitality operators across Key West continue investing heavily to capture premium leisure demand.
Parrot Key differentiates itself through larger accommodation formats, extensive landscaping and quieter surroundings while maintaining access to the city’s main attractions through complimentary transportation.
Located close to both Duval Street and Smathers Beach, the resort targets families and longer-stay leisure travelers seeking more space than traditional hotel offerings.
As tourism demand across the Florida Keys remains strong, operators continue focusing investment on higher-end experiences and resort repositioning projects to maintain competitiveness.
