Virgin Voyages has returned Valiant Lady to service after a two-week dry dock, adding new dining, refreshed venues and more than 20 new Happenings events on board.
The ship is sailing in the Mediterranean this summer before repositioning to San Juan in the autumn. Virgin Voyages said the overhaul also included redesigned spaces across The Athletic Club, The Roundabout, Grounds Club Too, The Manor, On the Rocks, The Dock and retail areas.
Among the biggest changes is the launch of Ariya by Razzle Dazzle, described as a new modern Indian restaurant. Virgin Voyages said all 1,300-plus crew members also completed a Virgin Way culture booster as part of the ship’s return to service.
The updates are part of the line’s effort to keep the ship’s onboard offering fresh as it moves through two different cruising regions in 2026. The Mediterranean deployment gives travellers a chance to experience the upgraded ship on summer sailings, while the autumn move to Puerto Rico places it closer to Caribbean itineraries.
Virgin Voyages has been expanding its food and entertainment mix across the fleet, with a focus on venues that change the feel of the ship while it remains at sea. On Valiant Lady, the refreshed spaces cover both social areas and retail, suggesting the work went beyond a simple maintenance visit.
The new Happenings events add to the line’s daily and evening programming, which is a key part of the brand’s adults-only cruise product. For passengers, that means more scheduled activities and entertainment choices alongside the updated dining and venues.
Ariya by Razzle Dazzle is likely to draw particular attention, as Virgin Voyages continues to position its restaurants as a major selling point. The line has used celebrity chefs, themed menus and stylish dining spaces to help distinguish itself in the cruise market.
Dry dock work of this kind often serves several purposes at once: refreshing the passenger experience, supporting crew morale and keeping a ship competitive in a crowded sector. In this case, Virgin Voyages has paired physical changes with an internal culture programme for the entire crew.
Valiant Lady is one of Virgin Voyages’ flagship vessels and has been a regular feature of the company’s expansion. Its return to service with a substantial set of updates signals the line’s intent to keep iterating on the product as demand for premium cruise travel remains strong.
