Air Tanzania Launches New Moscow Flights

Air Tanzania is preparing to launch its first-ever route to Europe as the national carrier expands its international network with new direct flights between Dar es Salaam and Moscow.

The new service represents a major milestone for the airline as it continues pursuing wider international expansion and attempts to strengthen connectivity between East Africa and overseas markets.

The inaugural flight is scheduled to operate on July 1, marking the first time Air Tanzania will operate passenger services into Europe.

New Moscow Service Marks Major Expansion Step

The Dar es Salaam to Moscow route will operate three times per week, with scheduled departures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Air Tanzania says the route is designed to support both leisure and business travel while expanding access between Tanzania and Russia.

The launch significantly broadens the airline’s long-haul network and represents one of the carrier’s most ambitious international expansions in recent years.

Tourism And Business Travel Expected To Drive Demand

Officials expect the new route to support growing tourism flows between the two countries while also strengthening business links.

Tanzania remains one of Africa’s leading safari and beach destinations, attracting international visitors to locations including national parks, wildlife reserves and coastal tourism areas.

Improved air connectivity could make travel easier for visitors seeking direct access without relying on connections through third-country hubs.
