Port Polska, the company delivering Poland’s airport investment programme, has started market consultations on how ground handling services will work at the country’s new airport.
The talks will cover technical aircraft handling on the apron and structural and systems inspections of aircraft. Port Polska says the process will help define the technical, operational and legal conditions for the future operation of these services.
The consultation is intended to help shape a cooperation model for one of the key areas of activity at the new airport. Port Polska has invited parties interested in taking part in the discussion about future ground handling at the site.
The move comes as the project advances planning for how the airport will function once it opens. Ground handling is a critical part of airport operations, covering the work that keeps aircraft safe, prepared and on schedule while on the ground.
In its announcement, Port Polska said the dialogue with the market should make it possible to refine the rules for the future service model. That includes looking at how the services will be delivered, what standards will apply and what legal framework will support them.
Technical aircraft handling on the apron is one of the most important elements of the consultation. This work can include moving aircraft, providing support equipment and coordinating turnaround activities between flights.
The other area named by Port Polska is structural and systems inspection of aircraft. These checks are part of wider maintenance and safety procedures and are closely linked to the operational reliability of aircraft.
By opening the consultation now, the company is seeking input before final decisions are made on the airport’s ground handling structure. The approach suggests Port Polska wants the model to be shaped with the help of potential operators and industry specialists.
Airport projects often depend on early planning for services such as ground handling because they affect efficiency, safety and passenger experience. The consultation also indicates that the new airport’s operating model is still being designed in detail.
Port Polska is responsible for delivering the investment programme for the new airport, making it a central player in the next stage of preparations. Its latest move focuses attention on the operational side of the project, rather than only the construction and infrastructure plans.
The company has not yet said which firms will take part in the talks or when a final model will be announced. But the consultations mark a clear step towards defining how one of the airport’s core services will be organised.
