Construction has officially started on the new $117 million Miyako Hotel in Plano, Texas, bringing a major Japanese-inspired hospitality development to the rapidly growing Legacy business district.
The 13-storey luxury hotel is being developed near Toyota’s North American headquarters within the Parks at Legacy Campus and is scheduled to open in autumn 2027.
New Luxury Hotel Planned Near Toyota Headquarters
The Miyako Hotel will feature 217 guestrooms and suites alongside a range of hospitality, dining and event facilities designed to serve both business and leisure travellers.
The project reflects continued investment in Plano’s expanding corporate and mixed-use development corridor, which has become one of the fastest-growing commercial hubs in North Texas.
Japanese Hospitality Concept Anchors Development
The hotel’s amenities will include a traditional Japanese restaurant, upscale lobby and rooftop bars, a Japanese bakery, an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre.
Large banquet and conference facilities are also planned as part of the development, positioning the property to target meetings, events and corporate travel demand.
The design is expected to blend contemporary luxury with Japanese hospitality influences and architectural elements.
Major Architecture And Construction Firms Involved
International architecture firm Gensler and Dallas-based firm Looney & Associates are leading the design of the project.
The Beck Group has been appointed as the general contractor overseeing construction works.
The development is being led by Kintetsu Enterprises, which operates a portfolio of hospitality and real estate projects.
Plano Continues To Expand As Business And Tourism Hub
The new Miyako Hotel arrives as Plano and the wider Dallas-Fort Worth region continue attracting major corporate investments, relocations and international business activity.
The Legacy district, where the hotel is being built, has evolved into a major centre for corporate headquarters, hospitality projects, restaurants and mixed-use developments.
Industry analysts say upscale hotel demand in the area continues growing alongside business travel, conventions and international investment activity across North Texas.
