Radisson Blu Opens 445-room Shanghai Eastern Hub Hotel

Radisson Hotel Group has opened the Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai Eastern Hub, adding 445 rooms to its growing portfolio in China. The property sits in the Shanghai Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation area, which the company describes as a key part of the country’s high-level opening-up strategy.

The hotel is positioned between Shanghai Pudong International Airport and the future Shanghai East Railway Station. Radisson said it is 13 km from the airport, a 23-minute drive, and 4 km from the under-construction rail station, an 8-minute drive.

The opening is aimed at business travellers and event organisers, with the hotel offering more than 6,700 square meters of meeting and event space, along with dining outlets, a wellness centre and views over the developing hub.

The property is designed around the theme “Oriental Window”, blending references to Shikumen architecture, the Bund’s Art Deco heritage and the Huangpu River with a contemporary style. Guest rooms and suites use moon white and ochre tones, with Klein blue accents and Eastern-inspired details.

Radisson said the hotel includes smart room controls, multimedia entertainment systems and high-speed connectivity to support both work and leisure stays. The company also said the design combines refined Eastern aesthetics with its service philosophy, “Yes I Can!”.

The hotel has an all-day dining restaurant, a Chinese restaurant called Jin Yan, and an Executive Lounge. Jin Yan includes seven private dining rooms and serves Shanghai, Jiangsu-Zhejiang and Cantonese cuisine.

Meeting facilities include a pillarless conference hall, a viewing theatre and eight multifunctional rooms. Radisson said the space is built to host international summits, corporate annual meetings, innovation forums and large-scale exhibitions.

The wellness centre includes a temperature-controlled swimming pool and a fitness centre. Radisson said the location also gives guests access to Pudong business districts, convention centres and cultural landmarks.

Radisson Hotel Group operates more than 1,575 hotels in operation and under development across more than 100 countries, according to the company. The Shanghai opening adds another major branded hotel to a city that continues to position itself as a regional business and transport hub.
