Air Tanzania Adds Moscow Route To Flight Schedule
Air Tanzania is preparing to launch flights between Moscow and Dar es Salaam with an intermediate stop in Zanzibar, according to updated schedule data published by Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport.
The new route is expected to begin operating from May 28, marking a potential expansion of direct air connectivity between Russia and Tanzania.
Flights Planned Three Times Per Week
According to the published schedule, flights between Moscow and Tanzania are planned three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The outbound journey from Moscow to Dar es Salaam will include a stop at Zanzibar Airport, extending total travel time to approximately 12 hours and 50 minutes.
Return flights to Moscow are expected to operate nonstop, reducing the travel time to around 6 hours and 10 minutes.
Tickets Not Yet Available
Although the flights have appeared in the airport timetable, tickets have not yet gone on sale.
The inclusion of the route in the Vnukovo schedule indicates that the airline has reserved operational slots for future services, though final commercial confirmation is still pending.
Tanzania Remains Popular With Russian Travelers
Tanzania, particularly Zanzibar, has become an increasingly popular destination for Russian tourists in recent years thanks to its beaches, safari tourism and relatively accessible travel policies.
The planned flights would provide one of the few direct links between Russia and East Africa, potentially strengthening tourism and business travel between the two countries.
